Well Being Wednesday Afternoon
Mental Health and Keeping Well
I know a range of strategies to maintain and improve mental well-being
Warm up:
Complete the sentence starters
-A time when someone's mental health might be affected is...
-The person might feel...
-Something the person can do to help themselves is...
-Something someone else can do is...
Draw and write about the things that you can do to look after your mental health.
Read the statements about mental health. Which do you feel best explains mental health?
Read the activities for health cards and organise the activities into 3 lists:
1. Things that support mental health
2. Things that support physical health
3. Things that both support mental and physical health
Go back to the 'Activities for Health' cards
This time organise them into four groups. You could colour-code them, write them in lists or create a mind map.
1. Things someone could do everyday
2. Things someone might only do sometimes
3. Things someone might do if there is a problem
4. Things someone should only do rarely, or not at all
