Activity - RE

Today would have been our Shavuot celebration day.

There is a Shavuot celebration day page on the RE curriculum page full of activities for children to choose from.

Have a look at the page and please send in any pictures of work you complete about this celebration.

Kindness Activity

Today, we would like you to perform a random act of kindness for someone in your house, your family, your friend, a neighbour or someone who you cannot see. You may want to write them a card, write a letter, draw a picture, make a craft, perform a dance, make a phone call, bake or anything to show someone kindness.

Maths

Starter

Today you need to practise counting up to 80 in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Fluency Friday

Today is Fluency Friday.  Your first task is to take your Gem Maths test (these are still in the Gem Maths page link from the main Year One page of the website).  Remember, you have three minutes and are not allowed to use anything to help you (apart from your fingers if you need to but we are trying to do them in our heads where possible).  If you score 19 or 20, you can move on to the next level.

Once you have completed that, we are going to think about worded problems again.  As we have been doing time this week, that will be their context.

It might help to have the days and months listed to assist with the questions.

1. Which month comes after September?

2. What is the sixth month of the year?

3.  How many days are there in week?

4.  How many months are there in a year?

5.  We go to school from Monday to Friday.  How many days is that?

6.  I eat my lunch at 1 o'clock.  I eat my dinner four hours later.  What time do I eat dinner?

7.  A film starts at 4 o'clock. If it is two hours long, what time will it finish?

8. I went for a run at 6 o'clock.  I got back at 7 o'clock.  How long was I running for?

Activity - Puppets

We would like you to create a puppet using one of the ideas below or an idea of your own. You can be as creative as you like but we would really like to see what you create.

Phonics and Reading

We would like you to click on the videos below and watch the phonics lessons from Letters and Sounds. Activities which you can do to apply the sound are in the video and there are also linked underneath.

After, please watch the videos on the phonics resource and support section which practices all your phonics sounds using the flashcards which we use at school. Have a go at saying the sounds along with Miss Smith. Make sure you are saying the pure sounds accurately.

Don't forget to read your book everyday.
