In Shared Reading, we have started to read our class text; Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. We made predictions about what we think the story will be about. So far, we have learnt that Michael's parents have lost their jobs and have decided to sell their house and buy a boat. Michael, his parents and his dog (Stella Artois) are about to set sail around the world for a once in a lifetime adventure!

Our first text type for Autumn 1 is poetry. This week, we have learnt about the different features of poetry. The children have been immersed in a range of poems displaying these features. The children have written their own poems using repetition and onomatopoeia.
