Complete the lines of symmetry to do set for you on Purple Mash.

Properties of shape recap:

Parallel lines: lines that are the same distance apart and will never meet.

Perpendicular lines: lines that intersect to make a right angle

Symmetry: A shape has symmetry if a central dividing line (mirror line) can be drawn on it to show that both sides of the shape are exactly the same

Work through the questions below applying your knowledge of the properties of shapes

Today's tasks are open ended NRICH investigations. You will need to demonstrate resilience and try lots of different examples before you reach your final answers.

Eztra Mild - Explore the different ways of colouring the triangles using the same colours each time

Mild - What is the greatest number of squares you can make by overlapping three squares of the same size?

Hot - How many different shapes can you make using the four triangles?

Spicy - Draw shapes matching each description
