'Believe to Achieve'

History

In History this week we have learnt about daily life in ancient Egypt. The children learnt about clothing, leisure activities, religion, children and jobs during this time. Then, they compared this information with life in the UK today. They presented this using Venn diagrams and comparative tables.
We also learnt about food in ancient Egypt. We know this information due to Egyptian art found on the interior of tomb walls as well as contents found inside Egyptian mummies. The children examined Egyptian art evidence to deduce what food and drink would have been eaten during these times. We also considered the difference in diet between the rich and the poor. For example, meat was expensive and would have been regarded as a luxury. Similarly, wine had to be imported so would have been more popular for the rich.
