Book talk

Today is the last day of work based on The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.  Today you are going to think about what you have learned this week about whether the wolf was guilty or not and use it to write an extended answer.  Re-watch this week’s videos https://southglade.primarysite.media/playlist/year-1-english then complete the writing frame found in the English resources section below.

Take a break

Have a chat; listen to some music; watch a programme; read a book; go outside

Science

Senses - Smell

So far we have learned about sight, hearing and touch.  This week you are going to be thinking about the sense of smell.  With help from an adult, think about the answers to these questions:

  • What part of your body do you use to smell with?
  • What words can you use to describe smells?  Make a quick list.
  • List some things that smell good to you and things that smell bad.

Activity

A grown up will need to set up this up for you.  Get them to blindfold you then hold various objects and foods in front of your nose.  See if you can identify what is being held by your nose just by the smell.  Do not touch them as this will be using touch instead of just smell.  You get a point for each one you get right and lose a point for each one you get wrong.  Let us know who wins in your house.

Storytime

Choose a story read by a different teacher.  If you liked their story then send them a message to let them know.  https://southglade.primarysite.media/playlist/storytime
