Our learning journey
Character descriptions of Jack
Our new book is 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. We have spent lots of time retelling the story and completing story maps! Today we wrote some character descriptions about Jack. We used conjunctions to extend out sentences and added in some adjectives!
Ice lollies to celebrate a wonderful first week back!
To celebrate the glorious weather and a wonderful first week back, we decided to sit in the Y1 quad and enjoy some refreshing ice lollies. It was a welcomed break from the sunshine!
The Big Bad Wolf (or is he?)
Today we have continued looking at our book and have been focussing on using our brilliant phonics to sound out unfamiliar words. We have written sentences about things that happen in our book and have used conjunctions such as 'and','but', 'because' and 'so' to extend our sentences. You may even spot some inverted commas in our writing too!
RSE day
Today we have joined in with RSE day and have been thinking about what love means to us. We all had a think about actions, people, things and events that make us feel loved or shows someone else that we love them.
We then drew pictures of what love means to us..
Persuasive writing
Our book this week has been 'the true story of the Three Little Pigs' written by the Big Bad Wolf. Today we have been writing sentences trying to persuade you to believe the wolf over the pigs. I'm sure these super sentences will encourage you to re-think the classic tale of 'The Three Little Pigs'!

PSHE- Learning about worries
This afternoon we have been thinking about our worries. We watched the story 'Ruby's worry' and learnt the importance of speaking about our worry and not letting it grow.
On our worry doll template we have drawn things that we are worried about including coming back to school and making new friends. Around the template we have been drawing who we can talk to, to help our worries disappear.
Outside adventures
We have been having so much fun playing outside with our new toys. We have been learning to skip, played football and even had a go at noughts and crosses!
