Week 3
Exciting English
This week we have been beginning to write our own story based on the work we have done about our story the Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We have been using all the SPAG skills we have learnt so far this year including contractions, possessive apostrophes, conjunctions and adjectives to enhance the content of our writing. We are always trying to make sure we use our best handwriting and take pride in the work we do.
Rocking Reading!
In Year 2 we love to read and we spend a lot of time thinking about what we have read to make sure we understand it. During our comprehension lessons we use the skills we have learnt to identify key words in a text. We also learn a range of new vocabulary each week including words like appetising and devoured which are in our text and complete activities based on the meaning of these words.
Super Science!
So far this term we have been exploring the dangers of electricity, when and where electricity is used in and around our school and home and begun to think about electric circuits! We are going to be exploring circuits further over the next few weeks and eventually trying to make a working circuit of our own.
Eco and Computing combined!
We have begun to research about plastic in our oceans and the dangers this poses to our planet. We have carried out research during our computing sessions and are now going to think of a campaign we can create to help save the oceans and the planet.
