Week 6
Geography
In Geography we have been studying maps. This week we went on a geography field trip around the local area of Bestwood. We planned our route on a map before we left and identified key features of the area. These included: shops, church and different types of housing. In previous lessons the children had looked at digital maps. We discussed which maps they found easier to use and why.
Smartie Fractions
We have been learning about fractions in Maths. Today the children found out the fractions of amounts by calculating the fraction of different coloured smarties in a tube.
Science
We tested different materials to investigate which ones were soundproof. We tested paper, wood, polyester, plastic and fabric and discovered that the paper and fabric were the most appropriate materials to make headphones.
