At Southglade Primary and Nursery School, we believe that community links are essential in the growth, development and wellbeing of all our pupils.  Links with our local community help us to build relationships with groups and individuals who will provide positive role models for our children whether within the world of work,  moral development or everyday experiences.    

Through visits, assemblies, concerts and special events, we involve our pupils in the local community, so that they learn how to make a positive contribution to their neighbourhood and the feeling of fulfillment that comes from this.

It is our aim to teach the children how they can become active citizens by giving them opportunities to work with parents, local residents, the business community, public services and voluntary services.  

In contextualising the children’s learning through community links, we hope to help our children ‘believe to achieve’ and provide them with aspirations for the future of how they can contribute to the world around them through work, volunteering and everyday actions.
