Exploring self portraits

during our Curriculum Driver

This week we have explored our understanding of facial features.

We discussed the features of a face including nose, eyes, eyebrows, ears, eyelashes, chin, cheeks and hair.  

We then went on the yard and drew some self portraits using chalk to represent the placement of the facial features. 

English Grammar Session 

We had a fantastic lesson exploring capital letters for names, places, months of the year and days of the week. We used large roles of paper to record our work which was transferred to our books. We had a fantastic session and it was great to explore this grammar technique in different ways.   

Maths

This week we have begun to explore representations of tens and ones. We used numicon, tens frames, base ten and partitioning strategies.
