Romanian Afternoon

On Tuesday 12th July 2022 at Southglade we celebrated all things Romania. We held a Romanian afternoon that was kick started with a traditional Romanian lunch. 

Various Romanian themed activities took place across the afternoon including learning some basic steps from a traditional Romanian dance called 'hora', some art and a quiz.

Year 4 and Year 6 looked at Romanian artist Saul Steinberg and recreated his famous piece called 'The Line'. Year 2 and Year 3 looked at Romanian inventor Henri Coanda, who build the world's first jet. They constructed their own jets and took them into the play ground to see if they would fly.

Year 1 and Year 5 researched lots of information about Romanian and made their own fact files. 

Some of our amazing Romanian pupils visited classes to speak about their home country and even teach some classes a little of their language.
