'Believe to Achieve'

Week 1

Wow- what a jam-packed week! We started our week with an introduction to our new English text type- persuasive texts.

We went full-on Dragon's Den style and created our own brand new product and pitched it to our teachers. Each class had some amazing ideas including; a coat which changes from hot to cold with the click of a button, a decoration sheet that you put over your house with a projector to project your Christmas decorations onto and even an automatic pet feeder for when you are on holiday!

The children worked so hard on this and used persuasive language to encourage their teacher to choose their product.

Maths

We have started our new topic this week- length and perimeter. We have been working on our understanding of mm to cm, cm to m and even m to km. We will use this to help us with our understanding of perimeter next week.

Curriculum Driver

Our curriculum driver for this term is cooking. We have spent our first two lessons looking at different chefs and created our own fact file about them. We have also looked at the importance of the different food groups and have sorted the ingredients from different meals into the correct food groups.

PSHE

Our learning value for this half term is kindness. We started our new learning value lessons by looking at Marcus Rashford and his campaign for free-school meals, as well as his work in food banks. We created our own poster to show how Marcus Rashford links with our learning value.

Science

We started our Animals including humans topic by looking at the digestive system. We spoke about the different parts of the digestive system before labelling a diagram, and using a concept cartoon to show our understanding of the lesson.

4B were lucky enough to witness Julia's amazing half-term homework! She created a volcano and used different ingredients to make it erupt!
