Unit and non-unit fractions

We are now moving onto our next topic- fractions. In today's lesson you are going to explore your understanding of fractions already, before we look at what a unit fraction and non-unit fraction is. We will recap what a fraction is and what we mean by the words numerator and denominator.

A unit fraction is a fraction with 1 as the numerator.

A non-unit fraction has a digit greater than 1 as the numerator.
