Friday 8.5.20 Bank Holiday
V.E. Day
Today is V.E. Day which is a celebration of victory at the end of World War 2. Today marks the 75th Anniversary of the day. We know a lot of villages and town are celebrating in different ways so we want you to join in as best you can on this day as well.
Activity One
Can you decorate and make some bunting and flags to place all around the front and back of your house, flat or bungalow, on windows, doors, the hedge, the fence, wherever possible.
You can use fabric, paper, card, old books, newspaper, ribbon, string, anything you have to hand at home. Have a look at the pictures below for inspiration and don't forget to send a photograph.
Below is a word document with blank bunting and a blank flag should you be able and wish to print it out to support with the activity.

Activity Two
Can you make a garden game or indoor game which you can play this afternoon? We have a range of ideas of possible games below but you can of course make up one of your own. We would love to see them and see you playing your games so don't forget to send in photographs and videos of you all joining in.
Family Time
This afternoon we would like you to spend time with your family. Lots of areas are doing social distancing events including having a picnic lunch, then playing games in the afternoon.
It might be nice to make a picnic lunch and pop a rug outside or inside to enjoy it together.
We would like you to spend this time together talking and have a nice picnic lunch. Play outdoor or indoor games, do some colouring, playdough or craft activities together.
Enjoy the celebrations and time together.
Phonics and Reading
We would like you to click on the videos below and watch the phonics lessons from Letters and Sounds. Activities which you can do to apply the sound are in the video and there are also linked underneath.
After, please watch the videos on the phonics resource and support section which practices all your phonics sounds using the flashcards which we use at school. Have a go at saying the sounds along with Miss Smith. Make sure you are saying the pure sounds accurately.
Don't forget to read your book everyday.
