Summer 2
This half term our curriculum focus is art, we are learning about Dale Chihuly a sculptor and creating some of our own colourful sculptures. We have lots of fun things planned for our children in year 3 this half term so watch this space. Scroll down this page to find out what we have been up to in year 3.
Week 1
This week we have been introduced to our art driver and began to look at colour and colour mixing. We will be creating art over the next 6 weeks to answer our I wonder question 'I wonder what colours are in explosions'.
In maths we are looking at shape and in English we have been acting out some play scripts. Look below at pictures of our learning from this week.
Week 2
This week we have taken part in oracy day and been experts about bones, talk detectives, presenters and actors.
We have been continuing our art driver lessons about colour and in maths creating 3D shape models.
Week 3
This week we have been continuing to explore colour in our art lessons. We have made contrasting ad complimentary art pieces, we used straws to blow the paint which the children loved! In maths we have been learning about mass and learning to use scales and read them. We also celebrated RSE Day which linked with our learning value of tolerance.
