'Believe to Achieve'

Thursday

For today's Phonics lesson, we will be listening for how many syllables are in each word. A syllable is how many beats there are in a word. For example, the word Cat has 1 syllable, the word giraffe has 2 syllables and finally the word elephant has 3 syllables. In Miss. Gresko's video, she will be helping you to listen and clap how many beats are in each word. Listen carefully to how many claps you can hear and then have a go at clapping the beats together.

During today's Maths lesson,  we will be looking at measuring and ordering various pictures/objects by length. We will be learning and using new vocabulary related to length, such as, long, longer, longest, short, shorter, shortest to compare the length.

Can you help Miss. Gresko to order the car and then worm pictures by length from the longest to the shortest and then try the opposite, from the shortest to the longest?

I wonder if you can find some things, at home, to order by length - ribbon, string, pastacarstruckstrains. Could you make paper chains with your family?

Which is the longest? Which is the shortest?

Today Miss. Gresko will be reading 'Guess How Much I Love You' by Sam McBratney. This story is about a Little Nutbrown Hare and his Daddy, where throughout the story, they compare how much they love each other in many adorable and sweet ways.  For instance,  "Little Nutbrown Hare loves daddy as far as the river" and daddy loves Little Nutbrown Hare "up to the moon."
