Kindness Activity
Today, we would like you to have a go at creating a kindness heart. This could be using hand prints, finger painting, coloured card, paper or any materials you can get hold of around your house. Have a go at creating a heart shape out of these materials. You may want to hang it in your window, around your house or give it to a neighbour. Don't forget to send in your pictures.
Maths
Starter
We are continuing to learn the numbers from 70-80. Today, you are going to play fastest finger from numbers between 70 and 80. Point to a number then your child points to it as quickly as they can. See how many they can get right in one minute.
Time - Days of the Week
We are going to be focusing on learning the days of the week today. Children need to know what order they come in and, when given a day, be able to say the day before and the day after. They need to be able to use the words yesterday, tomorrow, today.
Begin by seeing what days your child already knows. Write them down so they can see how are written. Then learn them by singing days of the week songs. This is the one I would do in class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GKmCQOy88Y
Once they can sing the song and recount the days in order, ask your child questions such as:
"Today is Tuesday, what day was it yesterday? What day is it tomorrow?"
After you have asked a few of these, assist your child with completing the questions below.
English
Spellings (Y1 Common Exception Words) - your, they, be, he
Remember to learn to read and write the words independently
Activity - The Three Little Pigs are trying to sell their houses before the Big Bad Wolf comes to blow them down! Can you design a house poster to explain why someone should buy your house. Make sure you use lots of adjectives to describe the house so it entices someone and makes them want to buy it.

Activity - Topic
Today we would like you to complete a map symbols activity from the Topic section on the previous page. We want to begin to explore maps, looking at the symbols you can find, thinking about their meanings and designing one for yourself.
Phonics and Reading
We would like you to click on the videos below and watch the phonics lessons from Letters and Sounds. Activities which you can do to apply the sound are in the video and there are also linked underneath.
After, please watch the videos on the phonics resource and support section which practices all your phonics sounds using the flashcards which we use at school. Have a go at saying the sounds along with Miss Smith. Make sure you are saying the pure sounds accurately.
Don't forget to read your book everyday.
