Due to social distancing restrictions school dinners are slightly different at the moment.
Children are only allowed 2 options.
Option 1 : hot dinner which is a vegetarian option
Option 2: grab-bag option
The children are served at their tables and have a specific 25-30 minute slot within which they have to eat their dinners. Children stay within their class bubbles during dinner time and we ensure that children use hand sanitiser before they have their packed lunch/ school dinner.
The arrangements below describe what Southglade was able to offer before the coronavirus pandemic and will hope to offer when it is possible once more.
At Southglade Primary School we are very lucky to have fantastic school meals prepared for us everyday by our wonderful team of cooks.
In Foundation Stage children are served at their tables- a concept known as family service.
From Y1- Y6 children are served canteen style. Children choose their dinner option at the start of the day and then collect a coloured band at lunchtime (when it is their classes dinner slot) which they then exchange for their correct choice.
In Y1-Y6 there are usually 4 choices:
Green- meat option
Yellow- vegetarian option
Orange- pasta/ panini/ jacket potato option
Blue- school sandwich option
All children also have a choice of a pudding/dessert everyday- this includes traditional hot puddings, yoghurts , fruits and ice-creams. Children can also get additional food from the salad bar.
Please see the attachments below for information about the menus which operate on a 4 weekly cycle.
