Week 3
We are already on Week 3!
Wow, how can we already be on Week 3? It has been amazing to be back at school and we have learnt so much already. This week we have explored adjectives further and begun to learn about verbs. We explored greater and less than in Maths and thought about the classification of reptiles in Science. We have explored our understanding of Greta Thunberg by looking at comprehension questions to discuss and answer facts about her. We have learned about Piet Mondrian and explored his artwork using primary colours in geometric and abstract patterns.
English
This week in English we did our first talk for writing map for a section of our class book 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers. This is when we take a section or whole story and use symbols and actions to retell this story. Have a look at the videos below of each class retelling a section of the story using actions they decided themselves.
1S Talk For Writing - Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers
When English meets Art!
This week we designed a 3D face inspired by Picasso which we then used as our stimulus to write a character description. We wrote noun phrases and sentences about our faces using the information we had learnt so far about nouns and adjectives.
