• EYFS Sports Day

  We had a wonderful time at our early years sports day today! Thank you to all the parents who came to cheer us on!

  

• Mastermind

  Four Year 4 pupils took part in a Mastermind Competition. They competed with other Year 4 pupils from the local schools and the competition was held at Rise Park Primary. Southglade came second place and the children wowed everyone with their amazing knowledge!  

  

• Wellbeing Day

  On Tuesday, the children took part in a Wellbeing Day where they learned about keeping their bodies healthy through a balanced diet and regular exercise. They participated in a variety of workshops, including yoga, wheelchair basketball, a visit from a nurse, and fruit tasting.

  

• Visit to Building Site

  Sun 18 May 2025

  Mrs Thomas, Mrs Rowlett and Mr Atkinson were very excited on Friday when they were given the opportunity to go onto the building site to see the construction of the new school. We were able to explore the building including going upstairs to the first floor and the roof.

  The next phase of the build will see the walls being installed to begin to make the building water tight.

  

• New Mud Kitchen

  Bowmer and Kirkland have kindly donated a new mud kitchen to our garden area. The children have loved playing in there and as the weather improves more and more we will introduce some wet mud!

  

• Introducing two new Southgladers! Alice and Andy- the parking officers.

  This morning we welcomed two new additions to the Southglade Team. Alice and Andy the parking officers! They will be outside of school each morning on the double yellow lines on Beckhampton Road to discourage people from parking school. Please remember to park responsibility around school and when possible walk, bike or scoot instead. Show you care and park elsewhere!

  

• Comic Relief

  To celebrate Comic Relief's 40th birthday, we created a coin collage. We raised a total of £227.09. Thank you for your donations. 

  

• World Book Day 2025

  We have had a FANTASTIC World Book Day!

  Huge well done to all the children (and staff) for their fabulous effort with the book character costumes!

  We have all enjoyed celebrating reading and the wonderful books that we read!

  

• B&K Brick Challenge workshop for year 2

  This morning year 2 were lucky enough to have session with Helen from B&K. The children learned about different jobs in construction and had a go at building for themselves using bricks and mega blocks. There will be more opportunities in the future for children to be involved in the new build project. Look out for B&K newsletters coming soon!
