  • Aspire Mastermind Challenge

    Four fantastic Year 5 children took part in a local school Mastermind Challenge. This took place at Robin Hood Primary school and the children had their general knowledge put to the test with a range of questions about lots of different subject areas! The four Year 5 children did brilliantly and made Southglade super proud! 

  • Wellbeing Day (Emotions)

    We have had a lovely day learning about different emotions and how to manage these. A mental health nurse delivered workshops about anxiety, Mrs Dowse worked with a group of children to create some emotions artwork and Mrs McCarthy worked with classes to play emotions bingo. 

  • Harvest Festival

    Over the past two weeks we have been collecting food for Harvest Festival. This year it will be donated to our local food bank at Top Valley. This food bank supports many of our families in their time of need and it is wonderful to give something back. It never fails to amaze us how generous our community is- thank you to everyone for your contributions- it really makes a difference. 

  • EAL Afternoon- India

    On Thursday afternoon we celebrated the country of India in a variety of creative and fun ways. There was loads of arts, cookery and fun had throughout the whole school.

  • Y5 and Y6 Sportshall Athletics

    A group of 14 athletes from Y5 and Y6 went to the Sportshall Athletics competition on Thursday 26th September.

    They took part in a wide range of sporting activities including a variety of running races and some field events such as speed bounce, triple jump, standing long jump, high jump, sit and throw and javelin.

    The children did really well and it was great to see some real talent in the team. 

    A great effort.

  • Y5 Goose Fair Trip

    After 2 days of incessant rain, the sunshine finally came out as a group of y5 children went to Goose Fair to find some inspiration for their art project with Mrs Dowse. 

    The children explored the different sights and sounds of the Goose Fair and made some brilliant sketches of rides such as the Helter Skelter and the Carousel.

    There was also a chance to buy some sweets and doughnuts- the children enjoyed their visit and their behaviour was awesome.

  • Y5 and Y6 Cross Country Relay

    A group of 12 Y5 and Y6 pupils went to Harvey Hadden on Tuesday 24th September for a Cross Country relay. The aim was to complete as many laps of the track in the form of a relay. There was a girls race and a boys race. The children tried to hard and ran so many laps of the track it was incredible. Out of around 20 schools, our brilliant teams finished about 6th.
