Year 5 Skills Academy Visit
Wed 09 Jul 2025Today a small group of year 5 pupils went on a unique trip to the Skills Academy in Carlton. They had the opportunity to try bricklaying and also practised their plastering skills. It was a lot harder than it looked!
We also found out about what the Skills Academy do from day to day and we had a look around their workshops. The Skills Academy help people to retrain and get back into employment by teaching them new skills. We really enjoyed this experience and it safe to say the children put in a good morning of 'graft'.
Thank you to B&K who organised this trip- we have some budding construction workers at Southglade!
All of the children represented our school fantastically and their behaviour was exemplary.
