Our last day in the old building!
Fri 27 Mar 2026The time has finally arrived when we say goodbye to our old building! To mark the occasion we had a picnic lunch on the playground and the children wrote messages on the walls in the key stage two hall. We also left our handprints on the walls and invited parents in to say goodbye for one last time. During our last assembly we said a huge thank you to B&K for building our new school. Thank you Jason, Shane, Harry, Carly, Charis, Helen, Diane, Karolina, Steven, Ahmed, Lamin and the whole B&K team.
Whilst the children enjoy their Easter holidays there will be a buzz of activity in the new school. We will be busy making sure all of the final touches are in place to welcome the children into the building on 15th April.
Goodbye Southglade Primary School building 1965-2026.

Easter Bonnet 2026!
Thu 26 Mar 2026On Thursday 26th March we celebrated Easter with a wonderful bonnet parade. There were so many incredible bonnets in all shapes and sizes, from easter hot air balloons to a bonnet shaped as a castle! We loved seeing the children's creations and it was a brilliant way to end the half term.
A special shout out goes to Skylar in year two who not only made a beautiful bonnet for herself, she also made another in case anyone needed it. Wow Skylar- you are a true Southglader!

World Book Day
Thu 05 Mar 2026A Wonderful World Book Day!
We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day and sharing our love of reading! The school was filled with excitement as children arrived dressed as their favourite book characters – and the costumes were absolutely amazing. From classic characters to modern favourites, we loved hearing the children explain who they were dressed as and talk about the books they enjoy most.
We also came together for a special World Book Day assembly, where we celebrated just how magical books can be. Throughout the day, classes teamed up with different year groups to enjoy reading buddy sessions, sharing stories and discovering new books together.
The day was packed with fun activities all centred around reading, imagination and storytelling. It has been wonderful to see the children so enthusiastic about books and the joy that reading can bring! 📖✨
