  • January 2021 Benefits Related FSM Vouchers

Sun 10 Jan 2021 Mr Pegram

Southglade Primary and Nursery School will be using a voucher system to support families who are entitled to benefits-related free school meals. This is the same system that we used before Christmas to provide FSM over the Christmas period. Families will be sent a 16 digit code each week for each child that is eligible- each 16 digit code can be used to redeem a £15 voucher at a supermarket of your choice.

Mrs Burrows will be emailing these codes direct to parents. If we don't have a current email address then we will send the code to you via a letter through your door.

These codes then need to be redeemed at the following website:

    https://www.selectyourcompliment.co.uk/grocery

Follow the instructions (which are very simple) to generate your own gift card which can then be printed out or saved to your phone.

Please note that this is only for children eligible for benefits-related FSM provision. There will be some children in EYFS and KS1 who have universal meals but are not eligible for these benefits-related FSM vouchers.

Please also be aware that if your child is attending school and having a hot dinner via FSM provision that they will not receive a FSM voucher as they are getting a daily dinner at school.

  • Christmas begins at Southglade

Fri 27 Nov 2020 Miss Smith

We were delighted to kick off our Christmas celebrations today by setting up our Christmas Trees! We had such a fantastic time working together to make our trees look beautiful. The class who had the most golden tickets in Key Stage One and Key Stage Two were able to help, but everyone enjoyed watching our trees come to life. More Christmas celebrations will follow.

  • Rainbow celebration day!

Fri 27 Nov 2020 Miss Smith

Friday 27th November saw Southglade awash with every colour of the rainbow!

We had a fantastic day dedicated to our wonderful Southglade pupils, thinking about how amazing they are and celebrating everything about them. We wanted to think about their achievements and have a brilliant day full of laughter and colour.

Everyone looked fantastic, we had homemade knitted jumpers and tie-dye t-shirts, stripy tights and colourful dresses. Such creativity shone through and it was lovely to see such a great array of outfits.

As part of the day we also asked for donations to support the Bestwood community. A huge thank you for all our donations and for purchasing cakes baked by our chef.

We are very proud to say we raised an amazing £550 (and this was at the last count, as we type, more money is coming in!)

Thank you so much for all your kind donations, they have been so appreciated.

  • Southglade Rainbow Celebration Day

    Thu 19 Nov 2020

Next Friday, the 27th November will be our Rainbow Celebration Day. An opportunity for us to celebrate just how amazing and resilient our pupils have been this year and to raise money to support the fabulous work that Bestwood Park Church are doing to support local families and residents this Christmas.

We are asking all children to come to school wearing rainbow colours in exchange for a small donation. This could be anything from 50p to £5.00. All the money we raise will be donated to Christmas projects to support individuals and families in our local community this Christmas.  We will be planning a day of fun PSHE activities to support our pupils well-being and celebrate how amazing they all are. (And we may even find the time to launch Christmas 2020 at Southglade!)

More information can be found on our parent letters page.
