Easter Bonnet Parades
Fri 05 Apr 2019Today we were amazed once more by the creativity of our children and their families at our annual Easter Bonnet celebrations. The Key-Stage Two hall was packed for three fabulous parades.
The Foundation Stage children wowed their audience with an outstanding Easter song whilst Key Stage One and Key Stage Two pupils impressed with their home-made or school-made creations.
Winners were chosen and every child was given a small gift to celebrate Easter. Special thanks must go to Miss Robbins who organised the prizes for the Easter Bonnet Parades and to the local Co-Op and Tescos who generously donated Easter prizes to our school. Below our some pictures from the parades . Have a great Easter!

2F go to the local library for their Act of Kindness
Thu 04 Apr 2019On Thursday 4th April, 2F took a trip to the local Southglade library.
'As our act of kindness this half term we wrote letters to unexpected readers to brighten their day. We went to the Southglade Park Library and posted them in random books in the library for people to receive and read. The people in the library were so pleased to see us and even asked for letters in their own books.'
2F really enjoyed their Act of Kindness: 'I loved writing a letter to make someone feel happy. My mum would be happy if she got a letter.'
We wait to see if anyone gets in touch with us to let us know if they received their random act of kindess.

- 20 sports tournaments- we are one of the top 5 schools when it comes to participating in sports tournaments and this contributed to being awarded the gold standard for sports last year.
This number will further grow as the Summer Term progresses.

Sun 24 Mar 2019On Friday 22nd of March we enjoyed our first international afternoon with a theme of Italy. At lunchtime, our wonderful catering team- led by Tia- created a fabulous Italian themed meal including lasagne and meatballs- they were also dressed in the Italian colours of red, white and green.
Following lunchtime- in the afternoon session- children participated in a range of themed activities linked to the country of Italy.
These activities included:

- learning key words and Italian phrases
- research about the country of Italy and creating information posters
- making necklaces from dried pasta
- Italian colouring sheets
The children really enjoyed themselves. I would like to say a huge thank-you to Mrs Della Rocca who organised the afternoon and even dressed for the occasion in her Italian football kit!
Coming next: Poland afternoon on May 24th and an international day modern foreign languages day on the 20th June.
