  • Year 6 Prom

    Sat 15 Jul 2023 Mr Pegram

    On Thursday 13th July, Year 6 pupils attended the annual Southglade Primary and Nursery School Prom. The boys and girls got dressed in their finest outfits and enjoyed an afterschool celebration with a disco, pizza, photo booth, balloon arch and a variety of inflatables props to play with. They certainly partied hard and some even danced with their parents towards the end of the celebration. Dajanae and Asante were crowned the prom Queen and King. Below are some pictures from the prom- more will be shared at the Leaver's Assembly on the 28th July.

  • Wellbeing Wednesday

    Today we have had a wellbeing day in school focused on health. The School Food Showdown Company delivered two live cooking shows, making healthy meals, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the children! 

  • Year 4 Residential

    Some of our Year 4 children have had a fantastic time away at Beaumanor Hall. They did climbing wall. nightline, treasure hunt and bridge-building activities. See the Year 4 class page for more! 

  • Primary Parliament

    Some of our Year 5 pupils attended the Primary Parliament at the Council House to work with specialists, including a poet, an author and expert performers, imagining past, present and future stories of Nottingham. They also worked on developing their oracy skills. 

  • House Champions

    Well done to Sherwood (Green) House who are this half terms champions. They managed to collect 1325 tokens and will be celebrating with a 'Break the Rules Day' on Friday 9th June.

  • Operation Sceptre

    Last week year 6 were visited by PCSO Chris who came to see us as part of Operation Sceptre. During this session Year 6 learned about the impact of knife crime and how it can change peoples lives forever. The also learned about the law around carrying offensive weapons. It was a very thought provoking afternoon and we all learnt so much. Thank you to our local policing team for inviting us to be part of Operation Sceptre. 

  • Year 4 Trip

    Year 4 have had a wonderful day at Papplewick Pumping Station learning about the history of water. 

  • Music Assembly

    On Wednesday, we were fortunate to have a visitor from a very talented musician called Ben. He showcased many different instruments including an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar, an amplifier, a drug set and a fabulous key board. He played songs that we all knew and could sing along too and then Miss Brierley and Miss Finnie were fortunate enough to play with Ben as part of his band. The children had a wonderful time and it was a great start to a Wednesday morning.

  • Coronation Celebration

    Today we have been celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III. The children came to school in their finest clothes fit for a coronation. We had a special assembly where we sang the national anthem and then we sang a specially adapted version of the song Celebrate which was adapted by Mrs McCarthy and Mrs Carter. 

    Children also enjoyed a special picnic lunch with traditional finger food and played traditional games on the playground led by Mr Parkes. 

  • Wellbeing Wednesday (Aspirations)

    Today we have had an aspirations day in school where the children have been exposed to a range of different workshops to inspire their career choices. Children have had the opportunity to work with Notts County Football Club, the fire department, community nurses, an artist and complete woodwork and cooking workshops with Mr Hunter and Mr Verity.
