Curriculum - History
In our history lessons, we have been learning about life in the Elizabethan era and Victorian era! The children had an immersive lesson where they performed a tableau (freeze frame) of how children were treated in both eras.

Skipping Ninja
On Tuesday, we had a visit from the skipping ninja! We were able to watch him do a show during assembly, we were lucky enough to take part in a workshop outside using the skipping ropes!
Aspirations day
During our aspirations day today we had some visitors come into school. We had an Olympic athlete in assembly talking about his success as a sprinter. We also had a workshop with another Olympic winner who had won bronze for gymnastics. We then had a visitor who works with children with additional needs, we had a go at some of the activities they do with the children.

PE
In PE we have been working on our control skills in football and basketball. 2H have been really good at controlling the ball by dribbling with our feet in football and dribbling the basketball with out hands.
The children have practised their aiming skills when passing the ball to each other and using more / less power when aiming into a hoop.
Handwriting
We have had a focus on our handwriting in year 2 this term, we have been learning how to join our writing and transfer this skill from our handwriting lessons into our English lessons. Our writing has been levelled up!

This term in computing we are looking at 'algorithms' and how we can program a robot by giving it a set of instructions in order to get to a location on the map.
The children have done a brilliant job with this, including great collaboration with their groups.

English
This half term we are looking at a book called 'Sir Scallywag and The Golden Underpants'. In the story, the king's precious, golden underpants have been stolen by an evil giant! We will be writing a newspaper report to inform the readers of the crime that happened.
