Hungary Afternoon 5.5.2026
We had a lovely afternoon celebrating the country of Hungary. We started off by finding out where Hungary is in Europe and the surrounding countries. We also learnt all about their culture and famous landmarks. We even tried to speak a bit of Hungarian!
The children enjoyed cooking Hungarian food, they made an Hungarian Inspired street food, based on the Langos bread of Hungary. Very tasty and they chose their own toppings.
In Reception we looked at the national flower of Hungary which is the tulip. The children recreated their own tulips by finger painting, they also enjoyed colouring in the Hungarian flag.
In year 2 they created their own symmetrical folk patterns.
In year 3 they created their own folk art heart motifs and they looked amazing!
In year 4 they made a poster all about Hungary. They used the ipad to research some facts about Hungary.
In year 6 they did a perspective drawing on the Danube river, which is the river which runs through Hungary.
