Kingswood 2024
Kingswood 2024
49 Y6 children went on the annual y6 residential. On the 16th of October, excited children arrived with their large- in some cases very large- suitcases full of all the items from the kit list. The weather forecast was uncertain so everyone needed to be prepared for all eventualities.
At around 9.30am, we departed. A couple of hours later we stopped for our lunch at the King's Estate of Sandringham where we also got to play on a really cool adventure playground. After that, we set off once more to our final destination of Kingswood, Overstrand which isn't too far from the popular resort of Cromer.
We were met promptly from the bus by our group leader (Lilly) and the children quickly settled into their dormitories- these were only shared with the children on arrival but everyone seemed happy with who they were with.
From that point forward, the children took part in their jam packed activity programme.
They enjoyed the following activities:
- Leap of faith
-Jacob's ladder
- Nightline
- Beach adventure
- Campfire singing and riddles
-Mini-Olympics including impressions of teachers
- Problem Solving
And of course the very important visit to the gift shop...
In a flash it was 12.30 on Friday 18th October and we were ready to depart. This year the return journey was smooth and easy with a quick stop off at a service station in deepest Lincolnshire. We were back in Bestwood by 4.40pm; the children I am sure tired but happy and ready for half- term!
Below are a few pictures; more will be shared on the y6 class pages at the start of the new term.
