Mon 17 Jan 2022On Monday 17th January KS1 were so lucky to have a visit from Nottingham Playhouse who came to perform the story of Little Red Riding Hood. It was brilliant fun, we loved the singing and all the characters. We even got a chance to ask the actors some questions.

Playhouse Partnership
Sun 16 Jan 2022We are really happy to be continuing to develop our partnership between our school and the Nottingham Playhouse. As one of the 5 schools chosen across Nottinghamshire, this is a truly great opportunity. So far, a selection of y3-y6 children have visited the Playhouse for a behind the scenes experience whilst our y6 and f2 pupils went to pantomimes there. The playhouse staff have also been into school to deliver sessions with pupils and plan to deliver staff CPD at our next INSET day in February.

NSPCC Speak out Stay Safe
Thu 13 Jan 2022Mrs Rowlett has been visiting each class in school to do the NSPCC assembly on Speaking out and Staying Safe. The children have learned about trusted adults in school and out of school and we also learned the childline number. Children in years 1-6 have learned about children's rights to feel safe.
The children were brilliant at naming the safeguarding team and knew exactly who to speak to in school if they are worried or feel unsafe.
Further information about safeguarding can be found on our dedicated safeguarding page.

Y5 and Y6 Cross Country
Wed 12 Jan 2022On Wednesday 12th January 2022 a group of 11 Y5 and Y6 pupils went to Wollaton Park to take part in the city cross country championships. For once, the weather was glorious and more than 100 boys and 100 girls gathered near Wollaton Hall.
The girls started and they did incredibly finishing with a score of 156 which placed them in the top 8 schools.
The boys also ended up with a score of 143 which placed them in a great position in the city.
A special mention to Iveel who finished 4th in the whole city and has not been invited to represent the city at the country trials in Mansfield on the 5th of February.
Good luck Iveel- we know you will do brilliantly!
