This week, we celebrated EAL day where we learnt all about Ghanaian culture. In Year 5, we were very excited to welcome Callum's mum, Irene. Irene taught us all about what it was like growing up in Ghana and discussed some of the traditions that she practised there whilst living with her Grandmother. We also learnt more about education and hospitals in Ghana and Irene encouraged us to be grateful for the education and healthcare system that we have here in the UK as it is so readily available to us for free as opposed to what it is like in Ghana where you have to pay.

The children in our school who are from Ghana or have family from Ghana celebrated their culture by wearing tradition Ghanaian clothing.

Finally, we were very lucky that Tia and the kitchen staff cooked some delicious jollof rice which we very much enjoyed!
