Curriculum

This week we have been learning about the Saxon Queen, Boudicca!

The children have been so engaged this week, asking questions and doing their own research on this historical figure. We have enjoyed writing our own diary entries, pretending to be her, and have even come up with our own war chants. We have also started comparing sources and have enjoyed thinking about how a historical figure could be portrayed in more than one way. Just like the pictures below.

Maths

This week we have been using our times table knowledge to work out what mistakes our teacher have made. The children have worked really hard to discover which misconception each teacher had made and even helped the teacher to solve it! Well done Year 3!

 

English

In English this week we have adapted the poem 'A Volcano' and made it our own. We looked at synonyms, adverbs and similes to make our poem exciting whilst ensuring that they rhymed.
