Children's Mental Health Week

What is mental health?

The World Health Organization defines mental health as:

'A state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.'

NHS England describes mental health as:

'How we think, feel and behave.'

How can we look after our mental health?

Talk about your feelings

Keep active

Eat well

Drink water

Keep in touch with people

Ask for help

Take a break

Do something that you're good at/you enjoy

This year's theme for Children's Mental Health Week is 'Express Yourself.'

Express yourself is about finding creative ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas through things like art, writing, music, dance and doing things that make you feel good.

Express Yourself

How do you express yourself? Create a mind map to answer the question. Watch the video below which explains today's task which is to draw your feelings.
