'Believe to Achieve'

What have we been up to?

Having designed 3D Jellyfish, we began to create the bell for the top of the Jellyfish by painting a range of different lampshades!

We decided which colours to paint the jellyfish based on our research of facts about jellyfish.

We have been exploring paint techniques this week including bubble printing, straw blowing and splatter painting!

This is ready for us to complete our 3D model.

We have froglets and a frog!

During our love of reading session, we made finger print Rainbow Fish using paint to represent the scales! It was great fun and we really took our time to make sure our hand print Rainbow Fish popped with lots of colours.

Oracy Day

As part of oracy day, we did lots speaking and listening.

We gave our opinion on our favourite sea creature, said if we agree or disagree, built on each others points.

We then used our maths lesson to go through challenges and discuss how we answered questions.

In the afternoon we completed our science lesson and thought about what it takes to make a seed grow.

We learned lots of new skills and had lots of interesting discussions with each other.

Our Under the Sea library

This week we began our Year 1 lending library.

Outside each classroom we placed a range of fact and fiction books all about under the sea which we were able to borrow and enjoy with our family at home.

We will return it the following week and take out another book.

We cannot wait to swap them next week!

All Things Art

This week we began to look at art and revisited skills of water washing, printing and sketching.

We worked together to print and paint the colours of Rainbow Fish and represent the scales.

Using this we began to colour wash and make a 3D version of Rainbow Fish with overlapping, collaged scales.
