Geography
The children have been practising reading and understanding maps. We have been learning about how to read latitude and longitude co-ordinates and how this helps us to understand the exact location of places in the world.
We have also been learning about biomes. The children were given extracts of information to read about the following biomes: tundra, taiga, temperate, savannah, desert and rainforest. We considered the different climates of these biomes and how this affects the animals that live there. Once the children understood the difference between each biome they had to use their inference skills to determine which animal would live in each biome, using clues contained in suitcases.
