…such positive meetings about all 3 children today and yesterday. You and your staff must be very proud of the way you manage such complex children. I am always very pleased to hear that a child is at your school as I know their needs will be met.

Outside agency professional:

"(This child) is so fortunate to have such dedicated staff working with her."

Outside agency professional:

"I just wanted to send a very quick email to say thank you so much for today’s productive and very positive meeting. It is fantastic to see the huge amount of progress that has been made in such a short amount of time, which is undoubtedly as a result of your hard work as a team around the child. The time you have taken to really understand the child's needs have helped to create a rich, holistic picture that has clearly informed our strategies and next steps. It’s great that there are so many strategies that have been implemented since our initial meeting. As I mentioned earlier, your perseverance and persistence has really paid off and it is lovely to work with such a dedicated team of staff.

Thank you again for your positivity, and most importantly, your unconditional positive regard for this young person, through what have been some difficult and complex situations at times. I really look forward to working with you again at our next review."

Lisa as SENCO drives the SEND provision forward and is a fountain of knowledge all things SEND, who is always available to discuss ideas and support with provision. Then, working with the SNAs ensures the P-Step curriculum delivery enhances the children's skills to ensure they are actively met and supports their needs and levels."

“Everyone that I have worked with has been committed to making sure that they do everything they can to support the visually impaired pupils in school. You all help me to make the most of my visits by having questions and queries for me, by putting my advice into action and, most of all, by thinking of additional adaptations that can be made to improve the learning experience for the visually impaired children.”

Parent:

“I just wanted to drop and email to thank you all from the bottom of my heart with how you dealt with my concerns about (my child).

Within weeks you made sure she got her assessment and result and the amount of provision already in place for her had astounded me.

We’ve already seen a new confidence in her and her work has improved already.

So thank you for the amazing work.”

Staff feedback:

Staff ‘shout-out’ – for your never-ending commitment to improving the lives and provision for our SEN children. You are an incredible SENCO who is so hard working, thank you so much.

School Improvement Advisor:

The experienced proactive Senco came extremely well prepared for our interview... and is passionate about her work...(she) liaises with all staff and TAs to monitor and evaluate the work done. Work in beautifully presented learning journals and workbooks shows a range of excellent practices and work done across school...Networks are used and a lot of work is done with the AST team and links with (another school) have resulted in a better understanding and work done on Dyslexia...Monitoring is done observing books, TAs and teaching and pupil voice is used whenever possible for reviews and progress meetings. Links with parents are effective. Assessment using the brick walls tracks the progress of individuals well and all pupils make good progress.

Outside agency professional:

The school is an inclusive school with some excellent practice in place. The SENDCo is well-organised and strategic in her approach to SEND and Inclusion within the school and it takes a high profile within the whole school environment…throughout the visit, the children were engaged, happy, polite and responsive to questions asked. They volunteered to show work and were proud of their achievements…staff were knowledgeable about the needs of the children within their classes and generally within school and clearly want to do the very best for their students…good levels of planning and differentiation were in place and the school strives for a holistic approach to SEND…the school, led by it’s SENDCo, have worked very hard to create a calm, happy, welcoming and SEND friendly environment. The children obviously liked being at school and feel safe and supported.

Outside agency team leader:

It has been brought to my attention by (AST worker) that a good working relationship has developed between you whilst working with many of your SEN children. I would like to add my thanks to you for all your hard work supporting the inclusion of children who are on the autism spectrum in your mainstream setting. This is to be applauded and I thank you for your commitment to your role, staff in your setting and to the children and families in Nottingham City.

Governor:

Just want to say I had a BRILLIANT time this AM with your SEN team! I was really impressed with their commitment, their team ethos and the work they were doing with the children…they seem a knowledgeable bunch and an asset to the school…the children were relaxed and happy…

SEND Specialist Leader of Education:

There is a real confidence of the SEND staff who have clear knowledge of the children on the SEN register, their role and constant changes which are happening with SEND requirements...The staff know in-depth knowledge about the children on the SEN register and what provision is in place for them...interventions were clear to see...those who weren't in interventions were taking part in some activity within the whole class setting which was differentiated or personalised for them...good sharing of information...regular updates and meetings to discuss pupil progress...there are clear plans for eventualities...
