I found it hiding in the cornfield on a disturbing Saturday night. It was the
evening after my brother's 14th birthday (which I didn't enjoy). The
summer was ending and a cool breeze sent a shiver down my spine

 

I was lying in my bed listening to the owls singing their nocturnal chorus when I heard a loud bang- this was closely followed by some rustling in the cornfield by my bedroom

 

Curious, I stepped out of bed. A voice in my head was telling me it was a bad idea but it didn't stop me. I knew I wasn't alone. I knew it wasn't just me.

What would I find? What would be there in front of me? My torchlight illuminated my pathway whilst the wind seemed to be sending a warning to me to go no further. I ignored it. To be honest, it turned out to be the greatest decision of my life!

 

Stepping into the cornfield, I moved towards the area which seemed to have been disturbed. The silhouettes of corn seemed to be watching my every move. The mist lingered in the air; engulfing me in a blanket of fear. My torch beamed

fluorescent towards the eerie shrieks -guiding me; pulling me hypnotically

closer... Closer... Closer...

To my left the corn rustled and parted in the breeze, I spun round and

shone my torch into the space and that's when.... I saw it...
