Week Three

This week, we drafted and edited our own adventure stories. These were based on How to Train Your Dragon and we made sure to think carefully about the dilemma, resolution and how we were going to leave our story on a cliff-hanger!

Week Two

This week we spent our time developing our oracy skills. We worked in groups to create our own version of chapter 11 from How to Train Your Dragon. We developed our use of pace, expression and tone of voice. We also started writing our own adventure stories based on How to Train Your Dragon and can't wait to finish them!

Week One

We kickstarted the new half term with a hook into our new text type! We are going to be writing our own adventure stories so we started the week with an adventure story cafe. We read the blurbs of different adventure stories, before choosing the one that we would like to read. Then, we created our own book reviews based on the story that we read. We also looked at identifying the key features of adventure stories, and began writing our own character and setting descriptions that we might use in our own stories.
