'Believe to Achieve'

Our adventure so far

Week 5

This week has been a fun-packed week. We have been busy plotting maps, reseaching firefighters (people who help us), writing letters to firefighters too give them on Friday, creating landscape pictures and practicing tennis in PE.

Week Three

This week we have been very busy with working on our geographical knowledge of our local area and persevering with tricky multiplication in maths.

In geography we have been on a local fieldwork walk around our local area to notice human and physical features of Bestwood and using this knowledge to question who might live in this are and what some sort of jobs they may have. We noticed lots of transport links into Nottingham and lots of schools too. We also noticed different house types and looked at odd and even house numbers.

In maths we have been learning to confidently count in 2s,5s and 10s! We have also been looking at repeated addition and arrays too! This hasn’t always been easy to understand but Year One have shown amazing resilience and they ended the week going on a scavenger hunt around the classroom to find answers to multiplication questions!

Another fantastic week Year One!

Awe and Wonder Week

I wonder what makes Britain Great?

What a busy start to the Summer term we have had! So far we have been learning all about Great Britain and all about traditions. Another adventure we have been on is going on a big open top bus around London learning all about important landmarks such as Big Ben, The London Eye and The Houses of Parliment. We finsihed the day by paining our own London skyline!

We have started planning an afternoon for our parents on Friday and looked at what we would serve. We are also going to look at re-creating The Great British Bake off later this week.
