This half term we will be continuing to use our focus text-  The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Rauf. We will be creating our own podcasts to raise awareness of the refugee crisis, as well as writing sets of instructions and a poem based on our understanding. 

Our curriculum driver is DT and we will be focusing on cooking. We will be aiming to create our own fattoush ( a dish popular in countries in the Levant region) We will be recapping our cutting, sieving and grating techniques from year 3 to support us with making this dish. 

In Maths we will be looking at properties of shape, including angles as well as position and direction. With the weather on our side, many of our maths lessons should take place outside!

In Science, we will be looking at animals including humans. We will be focusing on the digestive system, food chains and teeth.

Finally, our learning value for this half term is honesty, and we will be developing our understanding of how Anne Frank represented this learning value.
