Today’s Challenge

It is incredibly important to look after all of the minibeasts that live in the world around us. Today we would like you to create a minibeast hotel for the creatures that live in your garden. You can use twigs, leaves, rocks and anything else that you might find in your garden or at the park. There are lots of lovely minibeast hotel examples online. Todays worksheet (below or in your pack) has instructions on how to make a minbeast hotel.

Follow up Activities

Draw a labelled design of your minibeast hotel.

 

Research what different minibeasts like to eat and drink, leave some of these things e.g. water, grass, leaves near your bug hotel to make the minibeast’s stay in your creation a bit more comfortable!

The hungry caterpillar’s body is made from lots of sections. Can you use your finger, some paint and some paper to create a finger print caterpillar with lots of sections in it? How many sections does it have? How many would it have if it had one more or one less?

It is time to get creative (and a little bit messy!). Make up some salt dough, or you can use playdough and use it to make your own hungry caterpillar.
