As we delved deeper into our instructions text type, we started to learn Talk for Writing actions to accompany our WAGOLL text. We worked in groups to create our own actions for a part of the text. 

Towards the end of the week, we made our own bird wings to help us with writing our own instructions next week. We also had our first Big Write of Year 4, and independently wrote our own set of instructions on how to care for an egg.

Curriculum Driver

We spent this week looking at the different biomes of the world. We worked in pairs to find countries in each biome, before identifying animals and which biome we thought they lived in. We worked really hard on developing our map reading skills!

Science

In Science this week, we looked at the ways that an animal's habitat can be destroyed. We researched the following ways; deforestation, pollution, invasive species, urbanisation and natural changes. 

Music

Year 4 had their first music lesson this week! They looked at tone and how they can use their voice to create different tones and pitches.
