English

In English, we looked at Year 3 conjunctions and wrote sentences about how the children made Auggie feel. Then, we created freeze frames to show how we would make Auggie feel welcome if he joined Southglade. We spoke about showing Auggie around, playing games with him at play time and lunch time, and sitting with him during lunch.

Maths

In Maths, we have been looking at place value. We have focused on representing numbers in different ways, bridging to 100 and adding 10s and 100s.

PSHE

We have completed lots of activities around PSHE this week. 3AB started the week with the 'Cautious Caterpillar' story, where we discussed new beginnings and feeling nervous. We spoke about how we can all feel this way when we start a new class and that is ok!

We have created our own class rules, which we will continue to obey throughout the year. We also looked at what makes a good teacher and what makes a good learner. We spoke about how we all need to be respectful, helpful, kind and engaged. 

With Mrs Carter, we discussed our dreams and aspirations for Year 3 and for the future. Then, we wrote down our dreams into our very own dream jars.

3EB have also looked at 'The Dot', which focuses on a growth mindset. 

PE

3AB had their first PE lesson with Mr Parkes. Mr Parkes was SO impressed with their teamwork and listening skills!
