At Southglade, mutual respect is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every member of our community — pupils, staff, families and visitors — deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness and kindness. This creates a safe, nurturing environment where everyone can learn, grow and feel valued.
We have identified key values that guide how we learn, behave and work together:
Responsibility
Empowerment
Safety
Perseverance
Empathy
Collaboration
Tolerance
These values help shape our daily behaviour and are embedded across lessons, assemblies and our wider school life.
We are proud to be working towards the UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award, a programme that helps schools put the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at the centre of school life. The award is built on principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation, and encourages children and adults to work together to make rights real in our community.
Our work towards the RRSA strengthens respect across school, improves wellbeing, and prepares our learners to be compassionate global citizens.
