Ten competition winners were invited, along with their parents and family members, to attend the event after writing thoughtful letters to their future selves. In their letters, pupils shared what life is like at Southglade in 2026, as well as their hopes, dreams and ambitions for the future. Each winning letter was carefully placed inside the capsule alongside a selection of items that capture life at our school today, including a pupil exercise book, a school uniform cardigan, house points, photographs of the school and past headteachers, a newspaper, and a popular class text studied by the children.

The children were then given the honour of helping to bury the capsule before celebrating with healthy fruit kebabs and fizzy juice. It was a wonderful day that celebrated both the rich memories of Southglade's past and the exciting possibilities for Southglade's future. 🌟📜⏳
