Our first RE celebration day was such a success!
In EYFS, the children listed to the story of Rama and Sita, before trying on clothes, eating mango lassi, and creating clay diva lamps.
Across KS1 the children created acrostic poems and explanation texts all about how Diwali is celebrated. They also created their own rangoli patterns using paints and sand, and learned a Rama and Sita song.
In Years 3 and 4, the children read the story of Rama and Sita and wrote letters to the current King persuading him to allow Rama to become the new King. In Year 4, the children wrote their own non-chronological report about the celebration of Diwali. In the afternoons, they created their own rangoli patterns.
In Years 5 and 6, the children created their own explanation texts about the celebration of Diwali, and focused on how to maintain a great well-being. They also research Hindu Gods before creating their own.
